After "Cité Soleil", released in 2011, Tiwony promised a roots album. Three years later, that album, titled "Roots Rebel", is about to come out: it is scheduled for October 2014.
Until then, Tiwony is giving away the mixtape "Plis Roots" for free: as its name suggests, it is devoted to his reggae tracks and features 33 titles mixed by Polino, selecta of the historic Stand Tall sound system.
Drawn from his albums or his singles for Bost & Bim, D&H, Special Delivery, Hemp Higher, 7 Seals (his own label) and Dubsquad, this broad selection reaches far back into Tiwony's career: from Faut qu'on soit fort with Straika and Typical FéFé to Mon Continent, from Jah béni Yo to the recent Big Up, produced by Bost & Bim, which will be the first single from this new album, "Roots Rebel". Something to tide you over while you wait.
"Plis Roots" will be available as a free download from Saturday 21 June 2014.
