Recently established on the African continent, the label VP Records has announced it has signed Ghanaian artist Blakk Rasta.

Aged 40, Blakk Rasta has put his name to a three-year contract, making him the first Ghanaian artist signed to the label. « I have always been waiting for this moment, but Jah wanted it for now, the singer said happily. As they say, the right time is the time when it happens. Nothing happens before its time. »
In 2013, VP Records had signed the first African artist in its history, Senegalese Meta Dia, for the release of his second album, “Ancient Power”.
Blakk Rasta, whose real name is Abubakar Ahmed, released his first album, "Rasta Shrine", in 2000. In 2008 his song for Obama was a great success – he even had the chance to meet the American president during his visit to Ghana in 2009. His latest album to date, "Born Dread", came out in 2011.
