Don Corleon is set to close a fine 2011 under the sign of roots. After Protoje's first album ("The Seven Year Itch") and the Message riddim, which featured Vybz Kartel's last good single, here is the Antique riddim.

A classy cast, featuring for example Tarrus Riley (Antique Loving), Protoje (Stronger), Ky-mani Marley (Be smart) and Romain Virgo (Never go under). But above all Ken Boothe (!) and Da Professor (Touch you), and finally Capleton, with the terrific Nah skylark. No doubt about it, it's as beautiful as an antique...

Tracklist:
01. Tarrus Riley - Antique loving
02. Romain Virgo - Never go under
03. Cecile - Green light
04. Protoje – Stronger
05. Gaza Slim & Vybz Kartel - Need somebody
06. Ken Boothe & Da Professor - Touch you
07. Kymani Marley - Be smart
08. Capleton - Nah skylark

In Jamaica, the lifeblood of the record industry is the riddim (from "rhythm"), an instrumental produced by a label. A label that does not settle for recording a single artist on that riddim, but as many as it can: this is what is called a "series". To make a name for itself, a label will try to get big names on its riddim. Amid the endless flow of releases, artists have every interest in voicing the most popular riddim of the moment. Every week in Jamaica, more than a hundred 7" singles are produced this way. Only later, if an artist manages to find a distributor and a record company, can they make an album, which usually gathers some of those singles.
