Without being a new Drop Leaf, the Scriptures riddim remains squarely in the line of Don Corleon's reggae riddims. With discreet drums and a slightly sugary tone, this new series has very smooth edges.

Even so, the formula works once again, and we salute the excellent performances of Duane Stephenson, Jah Vinci and Da Professor, as well as Morgan Heritage and Jah Cure. Don Corleon delivers a balanced series, between young talents and heavyweights.

Tracklist:
01. Tessane Chin – Call On Him
02. Mitch – Never Never
03. Duane Stephenson – To The Lord
04. Jah Vinci – Nice Again
05. T.O.K – Crying Out
06. Chronixx – Most I
07. Jah Cure – Stronger
08. Morgan Heritage – Ends Nah Meet
09. Da Professor – I Know Why

In Jamaica, the lifeblood of the record industry is the riddim (from "rhythm"), an instrumental produced by a label. A label that does not settle for recording a single artist on that riddim, but as many as it can: this is what is called a "series". To make a name for itself, a label will try to get big names on its riddim. Amid the endless flow of releases, artists have every interest in voicing the most popular riddim of the moment. Every week in Jamaica, more than a hundred 7" singles are produced this way. Only later, if an artist manages to find a distributor and a record company, can they make an album, which usually gathers some of those singles.
