About this sound
At a time when Jamaica has succumbed to dancehall and reggae is becoming ever more discreet on the island, Don Corleon almost looks like a resistance fighter, continuing to produce new-roots riddims.
His latest, the Message Riddim, features a variety of singers, from established artists to up-and-comers (Da Professor, Ikaya, Protoje, Million Stylez…)
A classic riddim all in all, but carried by the very good tunes from Ky-Many Marley and Pressure. Even Vybz Kartel, who sounds a bit out of place on the tracklist, delivers a conscious lyric, Poor people land.
