Linval Thompson and the Mighty Diamonds in Paris

A fine roots night is coming up on Thursday 4 November at La Bellevilloise in Paris. Two great names of reggae will share the stage: Linval Thompson and the Mighty Diamonds.

Although the former is better known for his work as a producer, his dreadlocks anthems (Don't cut off your dreadlocks, Long long dreadlocks...) recorded for Bunny Lee are impossible to ignore.

The Mighty Diamonds, who have just celebrated 41 years in the business (!), remain one of the most famous vocal trios in Jamaica. Their crucial 1976 album "Right Time" is a reggae classic, and the group has carried on this typically Jamaican tradition ever since.

Easy Style Sound System (Paris) will also be playing the opening set.
