Double Grammy for Damian Marley
on Tuesday, February 21st 2006 - 87 970 views
Damian "Junior Gong" Marley became, on Thursday 9 February 2006, the first Jamaican artist to win two Grammys at the same ceremony.
Bob Marley's youngest son had already received this award for his album 'Half way tree' in 2001. This time he doubles up, being crowned in the "Best urban/alternative performance" category and in the best reggae album category, for 'Welcome to Jamrock', which marked the end of 2005.
He thereby joins other Marley children, the Melody Makers, who have won three Grammy Awards.
