Brand new releases by Makasound
on Wednesday, March 29th 2006 - 14 181 views
Specialising in reissues of rare Jamaican roots, the label Makasound announces the creation of a little brother, Makafresh, which will focus on modern roots. The label's new branch will be launched on 24 April 2006 with the release of the album "Radikal expression" by the singer Doniki, produced by Kariang.
A singer with a crystal-clear voice, Doniki became known mainly through his singles on the Kariang and Star Trail labels and a featuring on Pierpoljak's first album, which introduced him to French audiences.
Makasound is also continuing its reissue work on the catalogue of Derrick Harriot and Winston McAnuff, with the forthcoming release of Electric dread's first album, "Pick hits to click", made between 1975 and 1977 under the guidance of Sly & The Revolutionnaries. The album's original tracklisting should be expanded with rare singles.
