Baby Cham made his mark on 2006 in the USA
on Thursday, January 18th 2007 - 12 143 views
Vibe magazine, devoted to "urban music", published in its January issue the ranking of its 60 favourite songs of 2006. Several Jamaicans are in it: Tony Matterhorn comes in 60th with his hit Dutty Wine, Gyptian 21st (Serious Times), while Baby Cham, with the unfading Ghetto Story, reaches 7th place. Junior Reid comes in 8th, for his track It's Okay (One Blood) with the rapper The Game.
Meanwhile, the cult magazine Rolling Stone (the American edition, of course) has also honoured Baby Cham, ranking him 14th among the 100 best songs of 2006. The magazine considers Ghetto Story the equivalent of Welcome to Jamrock, but "darker".
