After "Soundsystem Champions" in 2008, the Scots of Mungo's Hifi release their second album, "Forward Ever". A selection of 15 tracks played at their nights, in the sound system spirit, as broad as it is eclectic. In a word, a release in the image of their productions on their Scotch Bonnet label.
These Scots have nothing to envy the avant-garde productions of their British neighbours. Reggae, dub, ska: every branch of reggae is transformed through the digital prism Mungo's Hifi stamps on its work.
"Forward Ever" brings together a hell of a line-up of artists: the late Sugar Minott (Scrubadub Style, a dubplate on the in-house Greetings riddim, recorded in Scotland shortly before his passing), their compatriot Soom-T (with the hypnotic Bad Bad boy), but also Omar Perry, Biga Ranx, Pupajim, YT, Kenny Knots…
Forward Ever has been available as a digital download, CD and 2x12" since 14 November 2012.
All the tracks can be heard (one-minute excerpts) on Mungo's Hi-Fi's Sound Cloud page.
