Sizzla and D'Angel could be banned from Sting
on Thursday, January 02nd 2014 - 9 698 views
Sizzla and D'Angel are set to be banned from Sting following their performances at the thirtieth edition of the famous event on 26 December.
Isaiah Laing (Supreme Promotion) was still fuming the day after Boxing Day. "Sizzla was warned several times before going on stage that he must not promote hatred, and yet he did so repeatedly. We are aiming at the international market and we had warned every artist before they went on stage", he explained in the columns of the Jamaica Gleaner.
D'Angel is also in the producer's sights. Invited but not scheduled, the ex-wife of Bounty Killer and Beenie Man burst onto the stage, taunting Ninjaman and striking one lascivious pose after another in front of a tide of cameras. "We are also banning D'Angel as a festival-goer. We don't want your money, D'Angel. Watch the event on television." Before adding: "At least five years' ban for D'Angel."
With the rapper 2Chainz and the return of Supercat, Isaiah Laing was probably dreaming of a different Sting, which also featured Mavado, Ninjaman, I-Wayne, Beenie Man, Tommy Lee and Aidonia.
The clash ended up pitting Black Ryno, who made short work of Kiprich, who had dreamed of Mad Cobra. "Over the years, Kiprich has never clashed artists of his generation", Ryno mocked in an interview.
On the women's side, Lady Saw largely got the better of Macka Diamond, in a particularly aggressive clash whose manner she regretted: "I am not satisfied with my performance and my behaviour", the diva explained. "I apologise to my fans for a performance that was degrading to both of us as women."
