Reggae Grammy Awards 2007
on Monday, December 18th 2006 - 14 249 views
The list of nominees for the 2006 Grammy, reggae category, has just been unveiled and, as every year, comes with its share of surprises. Besides Buju Banton ("Too bad"), UB40 ("Who You Fighting"), Ziggy Marley ("Love is my religion"), Sly & Robbie ("Rhythm & doubles") and Matisyahu ("Youth"), the selection seems to have snubbed Tanya Stephens and Beenie Man, two successes of 2006 with "Rebelution" and "Undisputed" respectively.
Ziggy Marley remains one of the most decorated reggae artists, with three Grammys won with the Melody Makers in 1989, 1997 and 1998.
The 49th Grammy Awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on 11 February 2007.
