Mavado rallies for Obama too
on Wednesday, March 12th 2008 - 9 526 views
The campaign for the Democratic nomination for the American presidential race is gripping Jamaica and its artists. After Cocoa Tea and Tyrical, Mavado is in turn taking sides for Barack Obama.
During a recent visit to New York, and as he prepares to shoot the video for his latest hit, On the rock (with Jay Z, if possible), Mavado has also just recorded a special version of the track for a mixtape in support of Barack Obama.
Throughout the campaign, the project’s initiators, Russell Simmons and Green Lantern, plan to distribute 100,000 copies of this mixtape, which features some heavy hitters: Lenny Kravitz, Kanye West, Jay Z., Common and Mos Def.
