Buju Banton's ''Rasta Got Soul'' is finally here
on Wednesday, March 11th 2009 - 10 027 views
A sea serpent resurfaces: Buju Banton's album "Rasta Got Soul" is announced for 21 April 2009. It is no ordinary date: it is the 43rd anniversary of Haile Selassie's visit to Jamaica in 1966.
Recorded nearly seven years ago, "Rasta Got Soul" has been endlessly postponed. So much so that we thought the project was buried. But the opus will indeed come out on his label Gargamel Music, including the superb Magic City, which Buju re-sang for us in a masterful jingle. Let's not get too excited: for now, this release is strictly limited to North America. Gargamel will, however, be touring Europe this summer.
