Fresh from the worldwide success of "Distant Relatives" with Nas, Damian Marley may be about to take another step up. According to a New York Post report picked up by the news agencies, he has joined the line-up of Super Heavy, the new group of Mick Jagger, the Stones' singer. A group that will stack up international artists: besides Junior Gong and Sir Jagger, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and the Indian composer Allah Rakha Rahman (who scored Danny Boyle's film Slumdog Millionaire) will be involved.

"The four of us got together and said we should go into the studio, try things and see what might come of it, whether we'd have fun, Mick Jagger says in an interview with NME. We didn't know what kind of music we were going to play. We knew we'd have fun, because we all get on well, but sometimes you have a laugh and nothing comes of it, y'know".
With each member's artistic personality, the project looks eclectic, moving between rock, reggae, ballads and soul. A possible tour will depend on the success of the album, Jagger continues: If people like it, we'll do it, and if not, too bad! We have nothing planned for now, but if the public really likes the project, we might do it. We'd love to get together and play the album live". Already finished, the album is due out next September.
