''Man Free'' available on DVD and Blu-ray
on Wednesday, February 15th 2012 - 5 621 views
Dream beaches, coconut palms and reggae... For the vast majority of people, this is the image associated with Jamaica, but behind the façades of the paradise hotels lies a very different reality...
Now available on DVD and Blu-ray, the documentary "Man Free", directed by Kinsey Beck, sets out to show the true face of this magnificent island through those who live there.
Far from the usual clichés that still cling to Jamaica, the director Kinsey Beck set out to help us discover the island by giving a voice to, and recounting the daily lives of, colourful characters such as Master Blaster, the taxi driver, or the young woman who set up her own bakery.
Narrated by Perry Henzel, the director of "The Harder They Come", "Man Free" offers an enlightening look at the situation of the Jamaican people, who face poverty, violence and the sarcasm of their politicians every day.
"Man Free", illustrated with magnificent landscapes, above all plunges us into the flip side of the postcard backdrop so often described by its artists.
