Monty Alexander will not come to Europe
on Thursday, June 28th 2012 - 5 545 views
Owing to health problems, Monty Alexander will not be coming to Europe this summer after all. The virtuoso pianist was billed at numerous festivals as part of the Jamaican Legends, a "super group" of musicians with Sly & Robbie and Ernest Ranglin.
Monty Alexander has to undergo treatment after a recent operation, and cannot travel. He will therefore be replaced by Tyrone Downie, a former Wailer and Bob Marley's pianist. The press release states that the show's repertoire remains unchanged.
The Jamaican Legends will play 23 concerts in 13 countries, from 28 June to 16 August. They will appear at the Garance Reggae Festival, Festival Nuits du Sud and Fiesta Sète, among others…
