Cayenne Reggae Festival
on Friday, April 20th 2012 - 8 709 views
Organised by Promo Son, which had already launched the event in Paris in 2004, the Cayenne Reggae Festival is holding its first edition in French Guiana on Monday 30 April 2012.
Having favoured Guianese artists at the time, the Cayenne Reggae Festival will take on an international flavour this year, welcoming Alpha Blondy, Beenie Man, and the I-Threes, Bob Marley's backing vocalists from 1974 (Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt).
True to its roots, the festival will of course feature many Guianese artists: Linda Rey & Blackwood, Nikko & Yin Yang Band, Wailing Roots, BHP Music, Jahyanai King, Moudjahyz, Prof A, Stereosonic Sound...
The Cayenne Reggae Festival, which is set to take place every two years, will be held at the Stade de Baduel in Cayenne.
