Ten months after entering prison, Buju Banton is about to taste freedom again. While awaiting his new trial, the date of which has yet to be set (news of 28/09/2010), his lawyer had applied for bail, and the Federal Court has just granted the request, against a sum of $250,000, the Jamaica Observer reports.

The bail comes with conditions: Judge Anthony Porcelli ordered that Buju Banton, placed under house arrest at his home in Tamarac (Florida), be kept under constant surveillance and wear an electronic tag, with the resulting costs to be borne by the defence. He will be allowed to leave his home only to meet his lawyer or his doctor, or to go to court. Nor will he be allowed to leave the United States.
