Read the editorial putting the site on hold ›
As you will have noticed, Reggaefrance is going through a rough patch. On "pause", the site has not been updated for many months. There is, alas, no prospect of change in the medium term. It is not for lack of trying, but we have not found the right business model to support the practice of our trade the way we want it. Keeping Reggaefrance going by distorting what made its reputation was no longer an option. That said, there is no question of Reggaefrance disappearing: the website will be maintained to guarantee access to our archives, the fruit of all these years of activism.

There are regrets, of course, but we prefer to focus on the pleasure of having contributed, with our means, to the reach of this music, and on the memories gathered over time: the encounters, the journeys, the laughter (a lot), the sweat (quite a bit) and the tears (a little)... Who could have imagined we were embarking on such an adventure when Reggaefrance was born in 1999?

Thanks to the artists, producers, musicians, labels, promoters, technicians and everyone whose paths we crossed during these long and lovely years. Thanks also to all those who worked on the site, whether to lend a simple hand or to contribute regularly... And finally, thank you, readers, for making all this possible. We hope you took as much pleasure following us on these adventures as we had living them. And besides, we don't want to insult the future... Who knows?

We have made a few changes to the site so that it displays our archives at random. Happy reading!

The Reggaefrance team, 22/07/16
